OverviewThe Diary of Ethel Jones is the account of a young American missionary nurse who went to China in 1937, just prior to the start of the Second Sino-Japanese War. For five years she worked in a hospital in Kioshan Honan, in central China. Within the first year following her arrival in China, the war arrived at the doorstep of the hospital where she was serving.
