OverviewExcerpt from The Demand and Price Situation: March, 1948 Gross private investment as a whole will probably average slightly below 1947, although residential building is expected to continue strong through 1948 and may average slightly higher than in 1947. A private survey of business plans for capital expansion in 1948 indicated an 8 percent lower expenditure this year. A Government survey reported that expenditures for plants and equipment planned for the first quarter of 1948 would be 7 percent below the fourth quarter of 1947, but still above the 1947 average. Both surveys were made at the beginning of this year. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
