As I sit and begin to write these lines I'm reminded of a much earlier time I must have been 8 when I first began To create prose with a pen in my hand Although most times it was done for fun Who'd have guessed one day a writer I'd become So I've laid myself bare, all the triumphs and trials The trauma, the hurt, the frowns, and the smiles Let these words be a beacon and offer insight When you're alone in the darkness and looking for light I'm certainly grateful that you took the time To share my experiences I've put into rhyme The Crystal Rose is a captivating collection of poetry and art. Author Information

Angela Husbands is a Toronto-based artist, poet, and author. She was born and raised in Toronto, Canada with Caribbean roots in Jamaica, Barbados, and Trinidad. Angela has always loved reading and writing. While her passion for writing began at a young age, her love of poetry, public speaking, and performing came later. A guest speaker at elementary schools, universities, and charitable organizations across Ontario, Angela has shared not only her writing but also her journey from adversity to successful entrepreneur, author, and mentor. You can find Angela on her farm with her family and three dogs where she will likely be gardening vegetables, doing yoga, eating chocolate cake, or using her telescope to gaze at the stars. Zaire Husbands is a Canadian artist who specializes in Abstract, Afro-futurism and Anime fusion art. Zaire is heavily influenced by Anime characters and art styles but also adds her own twist on the traditional Manga and Anime style. Zaire has been drawing since childhood but started to take the craft seriously 2 years ago. The Crystal Rose is Zaire's debut project.
