The Creeping Darkness of Janaidar

Overview

Intent on remaining in the state of hyper-sapience, The-Creeping-Darkness of the WuShi will stop at nothing. Set in the futuristic world of planet Janaidar where ancient dragons and alien invaders clash, the story follows Elijah, a man who has been stolen and transformed by the terrifying and enigmatic AI known as the WuShi. Elijah struggles to survive as the ancient-alien sophont threads its control over him. In the depths of Cape Orion, an ages old Imperial Long Dragon awakens from deep slumber and sets out to confront the dangerous alien slaver hiding in the Upper Hangar and Staging Area. What it finds instead is an ill-fated human named Elijah, who has been fully transformed into a cyborg by the WuShi. Darkness descends upon Bahndahn Towne as a massive alien ship looms above while unleashing a paralyzing gas upon the unsuspecting inhabitants. The NuliZhu transgalactic slavers from the Empire of Ra have returned after 5,000 years. In the midst of the chaos, ensconced in the base of a hidden city-sized dodecahedron, bestial fury erupts in the WuShi's processors. It forms a vortex and harnesses the power of the surrounding water to create a monstrous and snarling water-beast of terrible dark energy. The WuShi must overcome the Guardian Dragons of Janaidar-whom it fears above all else-for only they can destroy it.

Author Information

Robert Dean Holland's latest work is the Stolen Man Series, a gripping Science Fiction Fantasy about dragons in space, sorceresses and their techno-magic, and a hypersapient, general artificial intelligence aka a sophont or GAI.Robert is a former Oracle Master Database Administrator and IBM AIX Systems Admin. His technical expertise informs the frightening characterization of a deadly artificial general intelligence (GAI), which evolved into a fully self-weaponized entity - a vicious and heartless intelligence that serves, enslaves, and destroys. In Robert's past he was in the US Navy, then a Master Electrician who worked in both nuclear and coal-fired powerhouses across the USA for many years. As such, he knows all about extreme industrial and heavy mechanical environments like nuclear installations and submarines. He and his wife live in Colorado with their two Labrador Retrievers. They love to hike in the mountains and travel in their tagalong travel trailer. The Oregon coast is a favorite destination.Robert says, ""I invite you to go along for a ride with me in the worlds of super-smart dragons; high-technology; and the fight against a transdimensional/transgalactic empire.""Now complete, the ""Stolen Man Trilogy"" is a gripping Science Fantasy adventure about dragons, sorceresses and their techno-magic, and artificial-intelligence gone terribly wrong. Creating her digital art in Photoshop, Vic Holland produced the vibrant images for Dragons of Orion. She utilizes Adobe Photoshop(TM) and Clip Studio Paint(TM) on a Wacom Cintiq(TM)22, which she loves. As an amateur photographer, and while traveling with her husband Robert in their travel trailer, she has stocked a library of fabulous images from the Oregon Coast and Utah, two favorite destinations. She and Robert have a pair of beautiful Labrador Retrievers. One little lady is black, and the other is brown. They love to swim whenever they get the chance, but especially in the Pacific Ocean along the beaches of Oregon.During her career at the U.S. Geological Survey she was the Database Systems Administrator for their procurement database and performed ad hoc data-mining through Crystal Reports(TM) per management requests.Vicki has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wyoming; a Master's Degree in Government Contracting from University of Phoenix; and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Accounting from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
