Dress your Strawberry ' beds, neglected laH month, as early as possible. Clear them fromweeds and litter; thin the plants that are crowded with runners; loosen the earth, and add some fresh, and plant out Strawberries according to th directions for last month. This is the season-for pruning. Fig-trees-, in doing which you must leave a sull supply of the wood of last year, in every part, as the fruit of Figtrees arises from the wood of the preceding year. Your branches and shoots must be left eight inches apart, the stioots remaining at sull length; but if there are too many, cut the superfluous ones quite off, leaving only the strongest.. Train' in young, shoots near the bottom annually, to supply the place of old naked branches, which must be cut away to the part whence they proceed, or to some young shoot near it. Leave young branches at their sull length, and, when the tree is pruned, ., nail them at about eight inches from each other. This is the time for removing Fig-trees which. will soon take root. These trees are propagated, either by Suckers, Layers, or Cuttings: --the former are flipped as low as possible, and planted. in the nursery for training, or removed, at once where they are to remain. Layers must be. transplanted in like manner, after having taken: root, which will be at the end of a year. Cuttings now planted will take root by Autumn. Seven yards apart. apart is the distance toplant Fig-trees against wallsor pales. Compleat, now the pruning of your. Vines, in the manner directed last month Propagate Vines by cutting oft shoots of the last year. They mast be a foot long, and planted so deep that...
