Overview

The psychological, emotional, spiritual, responses humans have with perceptions and relationships and and the dispostion of their relationship to public health as experienced over the decades. Here communities are faced with challenges that require raised awareness as they live in a world filled with displacment, erosions and enviormental and generational changes taking place in their world(s). The various characters in a few of the first section of the collection are faced with obstacles related to their background: blood ties, experiences, and where have they been in their past lives is questioned. It is during times of change, struggle and strife where human development of families in crisis must demonstrate their strength and will to survive the odds or obstacels faced. The different plays offer insight into the challenges each are met with in life. Such as creativity, motherhood, memories of death of their elders, generational changes, are also met with innovation in both their inner worlds and the lives they live. The first three and following four plays take the reader into murky terrains of the journey of each play offeres. A few of the plays position its characters in regions ranginging from: California, North, East, South and are reflective of their relationship with not only travel but the land of which they were descended: these landscapes of the past is met with: the western, modern. and contemporary landscape of change leading up to the 21st Century. In Do You Have Time to Die? explores the impact technology has on humanity and is best seen through her relationship with her guard: The other collections offer insight into the nature of love, family, health, and race, gender, class find its way into their own understanding of the modern world not stemmed from the past but how they cope with today. The collection offers an exploration on supernaltural and reality of the naturalistic tropes as lived by the different characters. Each find different methods to relate to the resources of communications, between and with each other in their sometimes oft supernatural, past, and contemporary worlds the travel of their desires are met with different circumstances in their enviroment and the possiblitilites of development by the diasasters they are met to survive. Here a few of the plays journey into the unknown as the protagonists face the daichallenging obstacles in life. This collection of contemporary and historical non-fiction literary plays addressing the topic of love, connection to memories about the past, present and future of the environment and the spirit world and faith in the lives of descendants of the Middle Passage and their need for growth, exploration and bonds of families of generations who emigrated or was born in the African American, European, French, Spanish, Latin, and indigenous diasporas. This collection first three plays are interconnected as they are also inspired from the adventures of the mystical and supernatural travel of Jewel and Desire, and is a collection of contemporary, historical and literary plays addressing love, magic miracles connected to the memories of the past, present and future of the environment and the spirit and natural worlds these characters traverse. A bay area 'native born Californian' and a 'pioneer' and a local who happens to be born into a historic family of branched kin. Love & Danger was staged in 1997 at the Cleveland Health Museum. Her play Bitter Fruit (now with several titles one of which is: Bitter Fruit, Water Bleu, Moon, Holy). Her play In Seven Moons was first given a professional table reading at the Oakland Ensemble Theater. Her plays have been some of the first to be in a museum settings, such as the 1997 Cleveland Health Museum and later in 2007 at (MOAd). Museum of the African Diaspora- her literary canon includes: Installation Play, Process Plays/Practice Plays-a Trilogy of past and current and continuing replications of archival works continue. She wrote a compilation collection of narratives in fiction work awarded as Jewel And Desire which won Poetry Flash, and Poets and Writers Grant in the early 90s. Her plays such as Master Swimmer was first produced at the Exit Theater. Cut In The Blood/AshesTo Dust was produced by On Q Productions at Story Slam in Carolina. During the early 90s she created the first Drama Therapy program at Baker Places. She collaborated as executive producing director taking her work to New York at Times Square. She is the recipient of the Cultural Equity Grant for Individual Writers twice and the California Arts Council once.
