Author Information

Linda Fiore has worked in education for more than 20 years. In addition to her research and writing on education, she was executive director of a Philadelphia-based nonprofit arts-education organization, taught music in public and private schools, and is the Director of College Relations and External Affairs for the Boyer College of Music and Dance at Temple University. She is also a freelance writer and has published extensively on arts education, public arts and cultural policy, nonprofit leadership, and local history. She is editor of several higher-education publications, and serves on boards and panels of Philadelphia cultural organizations and academic institutions. She studied at the Boston Conservatory of Music and holds a B.A. in music from the University of Maryland, a M.MusicEd from the University of Portland, and an M.S. in Arts Administration from Drexel University. Researching this book and interviewing past and current college roommates has brought back fond, and not-so-fond, memories of the author's own roommate experience more than 30 years ago in a cramped dorm off the Fenway in Boston.
