OverviewThe main object of this research is the collaborative pianist and their musical skills, especially the practice of sight-reading. The main objective is to discuss how collaborative practice is conceived and carried out in the context of UDESC. The text is divided into three chapters. The first chapter presents a definition of the collaborative pianist and the skills that characterize them, with an emphasis on sight-reading. The second chapter briefly analyzes the process of training piano students at UDESC. The third chapter reports on a workshop held with piano students at this institution, from which we tried to ascertain the extent to which collaborative activity is compatible with the professional and artistic expectations of its undergraduate piano students.
