OverviewIn the 1970's the United States and the Soviet Union were locked in the throes of a fierce Cold War. Deep-rooted ideological, economic, and political differences made the countries suspicious of each other. Each country pushed hard for even the slightest advantage that could tip the scales of nuclear war in its favor. The USA discovered the Soviets were using psychic spies. Tests proved children have more psychic ability than adults. To respond to this Soviet threat, the CIA had McDonalds restaurant conduct a contest to test for psychic ability. Out of over thirty million children, six teens scored significantly higher than the rest and were recruited as psychic spies. These young teens were thrust into the seedy, dangerous and devious world of espionage. This is the story of the teens' struggle to gain the respect and appreciation of the adults and prove they could be an effective intelligence unit. Each has different psychic talents, but together they have a synergy of psychic abilities that make the team the top intelligence source in the USA. Sixteen year old Aurora has the ability to read and interpret auras. The Secret Service asks her to have a professional makeover so she looks over twenty-one to do undercover work in a lounge. It is believed to be a front for would-be assassins of President Ford. Her assignment is to interpret the auras of lounge patrons to identify the evil assassins. She is thrilled when the Secret Service informs her, as part of her cover story; she will play the love interest of her young Marine bodyguard whom she fantasizes about marrying. Another group of the young agents solve the mysteries of Area 51 when they receive telepathic pleas from an alien being held captive in the highly secret base. They get President Ford to intervene and order the base commander to allow them to search the base to find the source of the desperate pleas for help. Sympathetic to the incarcerated alien, they find a way to help him escape. Beyond the missions and the superhuman powers, the psychics are normal teens who like to have fun and are drawn to mischief. The only thing standing between these innocent children and our fierce enemies were two young Marines assigned to protect them. What was supposed to be a dull, routine assignment quickly turned into a dangerous, exciting one when they had to defend the teens from an attack of eight Russian Spetsnaz agents. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationUntil my sophomore year in high school, I was adamant in my disbelief of all things psychic and paranormal. However, I had a psychic experience that year, and several since then, and these have opened my eyes and made me an avid believer in this phenomenon. Some of my characters have psychic experiences that were actually mine. These experiences, as well as my love for writing and my BA in English, have inspired me to write this fictional, yet partially autobiographical novel.
