Davis's works transcend genre boundaries, delving into themes of love, loss, and the complexities of human relationships, all set against diverse settings that range from the ordinary to the extraordinary. He wrote short stories and his first novel at age 17 which led him to be accepted into the writing program at university. He took a break from writing to pursue a different career but continued to write and journal about his experiences.
