Overview

In the Summer of 1812 Napoleon has decided to cross the Nieman River and officially begin his campaign against Russia after years of successful conquests. Determined to make up for the loss of her brother who died with the infamous General several years ago, Emiliette Savioe has signed up to be a cantini�re and follow the Grand Army east. While France is bound and determined to take another victory under their belt, Russia does not think the fight will be so easily won. In the east, the army is primarily made up of forced conscripts, with many serfs following their wealthy masters into war against their will. Despite not wanting to be on the front lines, Russia puts up the fight of their lives to defend their homeland, and it all comes to a head when Napoleon reaches Moscow. The city takes a devastating toll, with many lives lost on both sides. When it becomes clear that the old way of fighting no longer serves the current day, new heroes emerge from the smoke, and it's not who anyone expects. Will Emiliette have what it takes to survive these battles in the east and someday make it back home?
