Overview

This is a work of fiction centred on the Scottish Independence Referendum due to take place on the 18th of September 2014, which just so happens to be the exact 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn where King Robert the Bruce sent King Edward II hame tae think again ! The story in general and all the character's in it are figments of the author's imagination, although most of the locations and places, particularly in Edinburgh, Beauly, Portpatrick and Jersey really do exist! The story revolves mainly around four men; two retired Army Ordinance Corps Officers, one a part time electrician and the other a freelance engineering consultant specializing in demolition, an obscure IRS official with special branch connections, and finally a fanatical renegade hell bent on imposing his will and rule through the enlistment of like minded people. This is a dangerous man operating on the very edges of reality and is completely intolerant of anyone who dares to get in his way or obstruct his ambitions. The resultant clash of personalities and political ethics lend themselves to some very interesting and exciting situations in which our heroes and the villain go head to head on more than one occasion! The eventual outcome of the story however, as with the real situation, is always very much in the balance and will likely remain so until the final reckoning!
