OverviewWhen Minesh and his friends accidentally set-off a strange machine they find in a park, they're zapped back in time to Victorian London. The four school-friends enjoy meeting larger-than-life characters and seeing the sights, but soon realise they need to use their wits and knowledge from the 21st Century, to get back to it, before they're stuck in Victorian England forever. Building rafts, constructing makeshift compasses and rigging pulley systems are some of the exploits of the characters, as they navigate their way through history, and try to escape the local police force, who want to lock them up for crimes they didn't commit. Journey with the gang into the 19th Century where you'll witness wondrous places, such as the Crystal Palace, James Starley's Workshop, and the Royal Navy Headquarters. This adventure story will appeal to fans of MacGyver, Katherine Rundell, and Spielberg movies. Learn about history and science as you explore Adventure Club: The Broken Time Machine. It was great that you included the math equations, always good to encourage people to learn and understand math. The character development is solid and the landscape descriptions detailed enough to visualize the scene without being overdone. I enjoyed it enough that I wished for more. I could for sure see a series of adventures with the time travel machine and I wouldn't mind a longer book, but I realize that isn't optimal for the YA genre. - Chris O'Brien I like your story a lot. The first few chapters introduce us to the main character and their backgrounds, and quickly introduce the mysterious time machine. There's lots of action in each chapter. You have created engaging characters and the story flows well, and you have woven the plot together so everything comes together well at the end. - Jane Hammet Author InformationCraig B Phillips grew up in a village called Olveston, in Gloucestershire, England. His mother is Canadian and his father British. He has one younger brother called Damian. He now lives in Cape Breton, Canada, with his girlfriend Lynette. As well as enjoying science and technology, Craig has a passion for the outdoors, which has led to some interesting hikes and camping adventures. Craig writes whenever he can find the time and tackles all genres. His style varies from the comic to the dramatic, but his work always tightly formed and features larger than life characters. He prefers tea to coffee and is probably working on a new story right now. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
