Reviews

Characters, wit, exquisite prose, and sense of redemption...richly crafted. -- Austin Chronicle Reminiscent of classic mysteries by Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett, with more character development and a strong, capable female lead. -- Library Journal Sandlin knows the craft, no question. Her writing is finely cultivated; we can feel we intimately know her characters. And Sandlin's story is classic swindle, surprise, murder, and coppers before P.O.S.T certification and ethics panels. -- Durango Telegraph Sandlin's sequel soars on the wings of its spot-on evocation of a time and place and its utterly compelling central characters, Delpha and Tom...A first-rate series. -- Booklist (starred review) What sounds like an ordinary PI caper...becomes something elevated, poignant, and complex in this beautifully written novel...Sandlin has crafted an outstanding series that readers will want to follow and savor. -- Kirkus Reviews (starred review)
