Author Information

Jack A. Taylor has spent more than forty-five years teaching and writing about the ancient world of Israel. His goal as a novelist is to both educate and entertain, bringing historical backdrops to life while offering fresh insight into stories readers may think they already know. His writing has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Harvey/Mackay Award for journalism (2019), the Word Guild Historical Fiction Award for The Cross Maker (2020), and the Castle Quay Award for Best New Canadian Manuscript (2021). Many of his books have also been shortlisted for national prizes. Jack's publishing credits include One Last Wave (2011), No Place to Run (2013), and Prince of Persia (2022). His more recent works include 12 Tasks of Manhood (2023), Pharaoh Hatshepsut: Moses' Other Mother (2024), and The Tunnel Maker (2025, as J.T. Alexander). Born and raised in Canada, Jack spent eighteen years in Kenya, where he first began writing stories inspired by memory and imagination. He now lives in Maple Ridge, BC, with his wife, Gayle, of forty-eight years. When he's not writing, Jack enjoys reading, history, and raising tropical fish.
