Prices of stockor and feeder cattle purchased this fall will be much higher than those of a year earlier, but with larger supplies and lower prices of feed in prospect, the combined costs of feeder cattle and feed in the 1937-3 feeding season probably W111 be somewhat less than in 1936-37. Although prices received.for finished cattle during the first half of 1938 may be lower than in the same period this year, 'the prospects for profits from' cattle feeding in the coming season appear to be moderately favorable.
