Overview

"This workbook works in conjunction with the INSTRUCTOR'S manual so don't forget to get at least one copy for either an appointed instructor or small group leader. In relation to each chapter in the book ""The Art of Leading Worship"" there are bullet points which outline the main points made in the book. The answers, or key points, are removed and 'blank lines' remain in their place. The Instructor's manual has all of the answers, as well does the book. Make sure you get One Instructor's manual and then One copy of the WORKBOOK for each member of your worship team. We recommend you going through one chapter at a time each time you have your team practice or meetings. This will make it fun and not too much like work. Enjoy filling them out; they are made to be written in! Keep them; re read them at a later date! Use them as a reference guide. Worship has always been at the center of God's heart. Ironically if you turn to the center of your bible you will see the book of Psalms. These are songs written over 3,000 years ago, which are still sung to this day. The styles of the music accompanying them have changed dramatically over the years but the underlying constant throughout the ages is the intent of the musician to bring a proficient, heart-felt offering through his musicianship. But how does one accomplish such an undertaking? The answers lay just ahead in the chapters that follow. Pastors and conference leaders all over the world can utilize this WORKBOOK which accompanies the in-depth instructional manual, making it available to attendees, in a way that some others have yet to fully attain. You will learn how to create dynamics, mood, the differentiating between praise and performance, harmonies, practice and practice schedules, writing out sheet music, presiding and speaking before a congregation, eye contact, preparation, flow of songs and services, how to structure them and create one continuous work of beauty, power point, body language, preparation for single church sites or multi-campus churches and so, so much more. Michael Young, a worship leader that has been leading in worship for over 29 years and skillfully plays more than a dozen different instruments, will lead you through the learning process with clear and concise points that are easy to read and fun to follow. ""The Art of Leading Worship"" truly stands out in its genre as the book worship leaders from all denominations will turn to as the definitive 'how-to' guide in the future and this WORKBOOK will assist in the process of raising up trained leaders in your church who can proficiently and joyfully lead your congregation in sincere and excellent worship. Be sure to pick up copies of ""The Art to Leading Worship: Workbook"" for all participants when you are hosting your creative arts workshop. Together let us make a joyful noise unto our Lord!"

Author Information

Michael Young is a trained musician who proficiently plays over a dozen instruments, is a lead vocalist and harmonist, is a skilled public speaker, and has been leading worship since 1986. His down to earth teaching style and his earnestness for encouraging and raising up Christian leaders has lead him to mentoring and training a multitude of men and women in how to design, lead, and create wonderful works of worship. His understanding of musical flow, from the days as a child when his father, a Berkley School of Music graduate, taught him the rudiments of musical theory, composition, has enabled him to inspire many to create worship sets that are more than just a collection of songs, but a living string of music that blends as one harmonious masterpiece. His college training in musical theory only added to his natural talents and having served as a worship leader in his home church for over 10 years, and additional churches as staff member, he has taken all of what he has laboriously learned, and through his unique and funny writing style, laid it all out in a simple and concise, Godly manner that even the most basic beginner can follow. Having being raised in a Christian household his love of the Lord is contagious and pours out over the pages as he draws you in to what may be the best worship training course available on book anywhere! God has truly given him the
