Overview

This handsome silkbound edition presents The Analects of Confusions with a gold-embossed cover design and beautiful full-color illustrations, presented in a decorative slipcase. This great work of philosophy brings together the words and ideas of Confucius, gathered by his loyal disciples. They espouse the importance of education for moral development and celebrate the qualities of sincerity, piety, and virtue. In these pivotal writings, human behavior was put under the microscope for the first time. Confucius provides a moral code by which each one of us should live based on ideals of responsibility, respect, kindness, and honesty - qualities as relevant and sought-after today as they were 2,500 years ago. His principles continue to shape Eastern philosophy, politics, and culture. With an introduction and notes by John Balldock, this deluxe gift edition makes a wonderful gift or collectible for any lover of philosophy and ancient wisdom.

John Baldock studied art history at the École du Louvre, Paris. His encounter with sacred art led to an exploration of the world's major religious and spiritual traditions. After a period of teaching art and art history in schools in England, during which he continued his spiritual studies, he left teaching to pursue a career as a writer.
