Overview

In 1854, a very old and mysterious bottle passes into the hands of a scrappy young Russian boy. Otto Stanoff struggles to survive in the slums of New York until he meets a former slave girl, Esther, who shows him a beautiful Bronze Bottle. When the peculiar bottle begins to change from bronze and gold to stunning shades of violet, Otto soon learns that the Amethyst Bottle may help him on his journey to California, working as a wrangler on a wagon train. Esther shares that she had received a similar surprise when an Irish girl, Tara, passed a beautiful Emerald Bottle into her hands. Otto hopes that the mysterious bottle will help him on his journey west to find his brother, Ivan, while prospecting for gold near San Francisco. With the help of the curious bottle, a secretive Sioux Indian and a shy young girl experience adventure and mishap along the trail. The Amethyst Bottle is the third book in the Bottle Series Trilogy.
