He holds a PhD in Political Science and History and an MSc in Ottoman History from the Panteion University of Political and Social Sciences, Greece. During his studies, he was awarded two scholarships from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Onassis Foundation. He specialises in Turkish and Turkish Cypriot history of the twentieth century, and his research focuses on the history, society, politics, economy, and international relations of Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, and the wider Eastern Mediterranean region.
