Overview

Schoolteacher Phil Shepherd never dreamed of being a spy. Nukes and enemy subs were the furthest thing from his mind when he set sail off the Florida coast on a pleasure trip. But when a collision leaves him stranded, he hitches a ride with an unknown vessel, not knowing he's about to face an enemy with devastating plans against the U.S.! Phil's son and a local reporter are trying to get him rescued, but first he must be found. As Phil's plight gains national interest, the public thinks it's following a 'lost at sea' tale. The underwater drama heading its way is another story--one Phil knows. With God's help, can he stop it in time? Clean, action-packed read filled with unexpected twists and turns. Midwest Book Review, D.Donovan, Senior Reviewer READERS SAY: Suspense-ridden, fast-paced, international intrigue... I was hooked from the start. Grant Stauffer Had me on the edge of my seat! Engaging and inspirational at the same time. Joseph W. Burgin, Pastor Great thriller! Many unexpected twists and turns. Once I started it, I couldn't wait to get back to it and see what happened next. Keeps you hanging right to the end. Robert J. Fritz, Jr., Reviewer Riveting, suspenseful thriller captured my interest from the opening lines and didn't let go until the exciting and unexpected resolution...But don't make the mistake of starting it at bedtime as I did. You'll lose more sleep than you bargained for! Gary L. Breezeel, Reviewer Action-packed...energy, excitement, intensity...and emotion! My hands were sweating and my heart was racing more than once!! And who doesn't love a book with a little romantic intrigue in the midst of espionage? Anne M. Smith, Reviewer I was as hooked on the unfolding adventure as Phil Shepherd was to the net. I would certainly recommend The Accidental Spy to anyone who enjoys an action packed believable adventure and knows that faith and trusting God will come to a satisfying conclusion. Cliff Kuhnell, Reviewer

Reviews

A clean, action-packed read filled with unexpected twists and turns. Midwest Book Review, D.Donovan, Senior Reviewer A suspense thriller written in the style of a Tom Clancy [novel]...One of those books you can sit down with on a rainy Sunday (and finish if you let the housework go). Which I did! Mary Beth Hardwicke, M.D. Similar to Dick Francis novels...The Accidental Spy was written by an engineer, and it shows. The details about the diesel/electric sub are well-researched, and there is a fair amount of matter-of-fact description of various aspects of the sub, its capabilities, and other relevant things having to do with sailing and navigation. J.E.Marlin, Reviewer Realistic characters facing overwhelming conflict. I was hooked pretty quick and had a hard time putting this one down! Jody Burgin, Pastor Great thriller. Many unexpected twists and turns. Once I started it, I couldn't wait to get back to it and see what happened next. Keeps you hanging right to the end. Robert J. Fritz, Jr. Move over, Tom Clancy! Excitement, humor and heart. This book will have you holding your breath! I look forward to reading more from this author. Deb Mitchell A satisfying page-turner of ocean peril and adventure woven with resourceful intelligence, courage, faith, and determination. Great visual descriptions. Amy Weinstein So well written it was hard to put down! And, you didn't overwhelm me w/ technical details (I thought Tom Clancy did that sometimes). Chuck Clevenger, Recruiting Consultant Riveting, suspenseful thriller captured my interest from the opening lines and didn't let me go until the exciting and unexpected resolution...Don't make the mistake of starting it at bedtime as I did. You'll lose more sleep than you bargained for! Gary L. Breezeel, Reviewer Action-packed...full of energy, excitement, intensity...and emotion! My hands were sweating and my heart was racing more than once!! And who doesn't love a book with a little romantic intrigue in the midst of espionage? Anne M. Smith, Reviewer Suspense-ridden, fast-paced, international intrigue... I was hooked from the start. Grant Stauffer I was as hooked on the unfolding adventure as Phil Shepherd was to the (massive fishing) net. I would certainly recommend The Accidental Spy to anyone who enjoys an action packed believable adventure and knows that faith and trusting God will come to a satisfying conclusion. Cliff Kuhnell, Reviewer The book was exciting, a real page-turner from page one to the very end...and I didn't want it to end. However, the ending was perfect! Patricia Krueger, Reviewer Intense and engaging plot! Some lesser works seem to use bad language or salacious situations to bolster an otherwise mundane storyline. Not this one.. (And) well-hidden end of story! Bravo! Ted W. Smith, Reviewer
