Joe Bannon grew up on the ethnically segregated streets of New York between 1956 and 1982. He became a teenage alcoholic, gang member, and a ""bag man and runner"" for the New York Italian Underground Gambling Rackets. When released from military reform school at age fifteen, he was told that he would be dead or in prison before his twentieth birthday. But God had other plans for his life.
