Overview

"""That's a Rap."" This story serves as an introduction to the storyteller Mister Tongue Twister. It begins with a boy that is curious about rapping and rhyming. Mister Tongue Twister teaches the young man how to rhyme and rap. He then encourages the kid to rap about his day. This series aims to tell fun, engaging, diverse stories. Each book has a reading level assigned to it depending on the difficulty of the words. The books are designed to be used as a learning-to-read tool, read-along, or a ""popcorn"" reader. Example: Just be kind. Say what's on your mind but remember, it needs to rhyme. Each bold word can be used as a ""popcorn"" for an early reader in a read-along session. The concept in the book also teaches children rhyming words."

Author Information

My name is Carlton Payne III. I started writing when I was thirteen, mostly poetry and song lyrics. I graduated from an HBCU, majored in computer science, and minored in music production. I have experience working with small music labels and early educational application development, but I want to tell stories to children to help them enjoy reading. I want to take the rhythm of the music and put it on a page with no beat to follow, but for the reader to choose how the words should flow.
