"Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn and sends you down a path that you didn't plan for. When that happens, you have to decide how to proceed. Will you take the challenge and make the best of it or feel sorry for yourself and fall apart? I have tried my best to make the most of my challenges. I'm not perfect, but I have learned so many lessons from having a special needs child. My name is Amy Smith and this is the first book I have written. Although I am very proud to now be an author my greatest titles are mom and wife. For many years I have felt inspired to share my experiences of being a mom of a special needs child with the world. This book just felt like the right avenue. I have worked for 20 years as a Physical Therapy Assistant and am currently the Secretary at our local high school where my son attends. This is the same high school that my husband and I graduated from. We live in a small community in Northern California. We have been very blessed to be able to raise our children in this community. Especially our special needs son. He has always been accepted and watched over by everyone who knows him. I am beyond excited to have completed this book and hope all who read it enjoy the story.
