We return to the lush fantasy world of Bravoure just as war is looming in Valena D'Angelis' City of the Dead! We follow several branching paths this time from the main characters as they rush to prevent a devastating war from happening. Yet, the solution to this world-shattering problem may lie along the most dangerous path taken yet. It was really fun to come back to Bravoure (such a cool locale that is very alive and full of depth) and follow up with where the characters ended up. The branching paths were fun, each was very interesting and kept things fresh. If you love exploring fantasy worlds and characters that are very alive, come plunge the dark depths in City of the Dead! - Diabolic Shrimp Valena has gifted us a thrilling finale to her trilogy in City of the Dead. Each book breaks the mould of the standard fantasy genre in a different way, yet there is a real sense of consistency throughout the trilogy with the diverse characters she has created, all centred around the journey of her lead character Ahna. City of the Dead picks up from the cliffhanger ending of Castaway and takes us on an epic ride to save Bravoure from its latest perils, delivering an ending where you just can't put the book down until you finish, with both old and new characters; interwoven with sadness and joy, resulting in a truly memorable and compelling saga. - Goodreads Ahna's story includes little, but true friendship, epic battles, the awesome fantasy creatures that we all love in every shape possible as well as the inner struggle to find a reason to live a life that has taken everything from you and a path to walk in a world that hates you. Definitely recommend this series to every fantasy fan! - NetGalley

Author Information

"Valena is a freshly emerged author on the fantasy scene. Her 2020 debut novel, Tempest of Bravoure: Kingdom Ascent, is ""dedicated to the little kid who dreamed of something different."" It's the first in a series of books written with the mission to refresh traditional fiction by filling its pages with powerful heroes and heroines who are often mis- and/or underrepresented. These characters, and the world they're based in (Terra) are developed in a rich, yet succinct and fast-paced way. She has taken the fantasy genre and trimmed it back to its most bare, most interesting bones, and fleshed them over with modern commentary and diverse characters. When she's not working to expand the Terraverse, Valena is a passionate Dungeon and Dragons player, Sci-Fi fan, and gamer, who pulls inspiration from these sources to invent alternate realms.
