Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationCharles and Mary Lamb were English siblings whose graceful retellings helped introduce generations of young readers to Shakespeare. Born in London-Mary in 1764 and Charles in 1775-they grew up in modest circumstances but in a household connected to the legal world of the Inner Temple. Together they created Tales from Shakespeare (1807), with Mary adapting the comedies and Charles the tragedies. Arthur Rackham (1867-1939) was an English book illustrator who was one of the leading figures during the most celebrated era of British book illustration. His robust pen and ink drawings are noted for their clever interpretations and whimsical flourishes. Louis N. Feipel (1883-1968) was an American bibliographer, editor, and naval historian, celebrated by George Bernard Shaw as ""the Prince of Proofreaders."" He was Director of Publications at the Brooklyn Public Library and, among of things, an expert writer of bibliographical essays. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
