OverviewThis book is about adventures with my rescue dogs prior to them suffering great negligence before they found freedom in their new home with me. Having many animals, I found a greater affinity with my dogs. There are some guides in the book to off-leash training. I prefer this way because it's more of a natural bond, and shows their body language for us to learn. Oska, the Red Cattle, is the main character in this book. He was a real alpha in the sense that every day was a challenge and every vet visit was uncertain. Oska suffered with anxiety, and the antics and adventures he got up to will put a smile on our face. My other rescues in the book include a Kelpie, a Rottweiler and a German Shepherd, and it covers some of their antics and adventures. Photos have been used to show examples of Oska's adventures. The glint in his eyes explains his character. Though there are several training books on the market, this book is for dealing with anxiety and the old habits of a rescue dog. It also discusses dogs' body language and how to read their needs. I have had an extraordinary experience with my journey through saving dogs and showing them the kinder side of life, and learning about them and their needs after understanding what has happened prior to meeting them. I have grown up in numerous places in Australia, mostly in the city, but I have enjoyed the outdoor country life in my youth, with contentment in being around animals.I found my affinity for dog training at the age of fifteen and a half when taking a jillaroo job on a property in the country after escaping the city lifestyle. On one of the properties I was working on, a stray dog was around and, of course, every animal on a property has a purpose and has to earn their keep. This was no different for this stray and I desperately wanted to give him a home. The main job for the dogs, as they already had some, was to round up cattle unassisted. That was achieved in leaps and bounds, and I felt a great sense of accomplishment at such a young age. This was where my hidden inner potential shone through. Coming back to city dwelling and still picking up strays, I set about continuing the training regimen for my city strays and felt the passion continue. The country experience paved the way for many a fun, adventurous and fulfilling journey with all my pets.
