As an academic he has published in a number of international law journals and lectured in business and international law. He has been a visiting Professor at Warsaw University of Applied Sciences, Poland where he was awarded the Senate Medal of Merit. He has been a speaker at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels and a legal adviser to businesses in Central and Eastern Europe.
