OverviewThe Surinam Horned frog is maybe the most striking in appearance of all the horned frogs because of its high horns over the eyes and very enormous mouth comparable to the length of its body. Body hues shift from light and dim shades of green to dull earthy colored to beige. The throat of both genders is dark. It is for all intents and purposes difficult to decide sex by some other means than the size contrast in grown-up creatures with the male being significantly littler. Surinam horned frogs gathered from the wild feed basically on different frogs while those reared in bondage are significantly less particular, benefiting from crickets just as different bugs, and little mice.
