Author Information

David Wheeler was born in New Cross, London in 1957 and educated at a state grammar school in London suburbia. He read English at Churchill College, Cambridge, achieving an M A in English. He went on to gain another Master's degree in American Literature from Keele University and a PGCE from King's College, London. He had a successful career as an English teacher in English state secondary schools, spending the last sixteen years of his career as Head of English and Drama. In a 30 year career he directed over 20 school productions. From 1984 until 2010 he was involved in the English examination system in a variety of roles: assistant examiner, team leader, Prinicipal Examiner at GCSE and at A level and finally Chair of Examiners at A Level English Literature for AQA from 200 until 2010. In 2011 ill health forced his retirement from teaching and he now devotes his time to writing.
