Summer Pathway to Success is a series of K-4 summer review booklets designed and written by teachers. It offers a great way for parents and educators to provide summer daily review for reading, language, and math, in order to refresh students' minds, fill learning gaps, and help prepare for their upcoming grade. The format is clear and concise with one page of language arts and one page of math skills per day for 8 weeks. The content aligns firmly with the Common Core Standards. Grade 3 booklet includes the following skills: Monday: word identification & structures of language / numbers and operations Tuesday: vocabulary & mechanics of language / geometry and measurement Wednesday: comprehension of fictional text & grammar and usage / functions of algebra Thursday: comprehension of informational text & spelling / data, statistics, and probability Friday: writing / problem solving The answer key is included.

Author Information

Paula Marandola is the educational director of Smart Test, Inc., with degrees in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education. She is a retired teacher, after having taught 37 years in an inner city community, and has had extensive teaching experience with both regular and special needs children. Mrs. Marandola, a formerly published author in the Journal of Learning Disabilities, has currently authored and edited Summer Pathway to Success-3rd grade and Summer Pathway to Success-4th grade with Ming Shen. Ming Shen is the founder of Smart Test, Inc. She was born, raised, and educated in China before getting her master's degree. Since then, she has been teaching more than 20 years in American public schools and colleges. She authored and edited Summer Pathway to Success- Kindergarten, Summer Pathway to Success -1st grade, and Summer Pathway to Success -2nd grade with Mrs. Paula Marandola, another veteran teacher.
