"Mieke Gerritzen (1962) was born in Amsterdam. Studied there at the Rietveld Academy audio visual media, she graduated in 1987. In the early nineties Gerritzen was one of the first designers involved in the developpement of digital media in the Netherlands. She did the logo and website design of XS4ALL, the leading Internet provider at this moment. She was involved as the head of design at the digital department of VPRO. At the Society for old and new Media (De Waag) she was designdirector of the medialab. Gerritzen did the design for the Dutch Public Broadcast Organisation channel 3 (NOS) from 1999 until 2003. She is the founder of NL.Design in 2000, her own design studio. NL.Design makes designs for all media and works with many different designers, writers and artists. In 2001 she started the All Media Foundation for the organization and production of movies, publications and events like ""The International Browserday"" in New York, Berlin and Amsterdam and more recent ""The Biggest Visual Power Shows”. Gerritzen is head of the design department Sandberg Institute, the post-graduate course connected to Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
