English General Nouns has greatly contributed to the endeavour of describing meaning through an analysis of noun forms. Since the corpus-driven methodology in this study is followed by a theoretical approach to the analysis of the data, the human researcher becomes an integral part of the equation highlighting language use in its social context. The choices that were made regarding data selection and analysis could arguably be relevant to the purpose of this study.
