Stories from Inside

Overview

Stories from Inside cannot be confined to any genre, category, or place. Inhabiting the realm between reality and fantasy that we call the imagination, these eighteen stories read something like the best fairy tales: the strange, the fantastic, and the otherworldly cast a penetrating gaze into the realms we all inhabit. Playful and profound in equal measure, Jeri Idon takes the timeless and universal themes of storytelling-desire, illusion, loss, the search for truth, for help, for love-and makes them uniquely her own. There is an exuberant inventiveness to both the characters and their predicaments: two sisters' quixotic search for Solution, a woman seeking to free herself from a lover and becoming captured by a necklace instead, another who ascends to the penthouse of the corporate world through an act of levitation, the ambivalence of astral projectors. These stories are for the reader who wants to be taken far out and deep within at the same time.

Reviews

""Written work of art. I found myself drawn in to an inner world that felt both dreamlike and palpably real at the same time. I was surprised how a book that read like poetry could still be an edgy commentary on our culture. I loved it!"" L.C., Amazon reader
