Demko is certified in gerontology (University of Michigan), geriatric assessment (USF-Medical), and retirement planningleadership (AARP). In 1975, David became the youngest director ever to be appointed to direct the one of the federal government's ACTION programs on Aging. In 1981, he received his first of three appointments to the White House Conference on Aging, the youngest American to receive this Presidential commission. Since 1998, Dr. Demko has served as editor of AgeVenture longevity magazine, ZOOMER(TM) lifestyle magazine for Boomers, and is the author of four books on healthy lifestyles and retirement planning. Today, he is a Professor at the Miami Dade Honors College. A member of the National Press Club, Editor&Publisher Syndicated Columnists, American Sociological Association, and the Gerontological Society of America; David's research on ZOOMER lifestyle appeared in the international print and broadcast media. In broadcast media, the NBC Today Show, Fox & Friends, CBS, National Public Radio, Clear Channel TV, Fox Radio, Sony TV's Life & Style, and London's BBC covered the author's work. In print media, Glamour, Readers Digest, New York Times, New York Post, Los Angeles Times, Atlanta Constitution, Maxim, Blender, Marie Claire, and Forbes have quoted David's gerontological research.
