Overview

"The book provides an overview of the group of hanging cloud objects (2010- 2020) by Stefan Lö ffelhardt. In the temporal developmental arc of Stefan Lö ffelhardt's work, the cloud objects lie between the large landscape installations in space and the current drawings of inner landscape. The objects evolved from the walk-in installations through the model-like ship sculptures and the hanging constructions of urban landscape, as they are documented in the catalogs "" Blachfeld"" (2003), "" Lö ffelhardt"" (2008), "" Tal Grund/The Valley Floor"" (2009), and "" Tisch"" (2016). The illustrations follow roughly chronologically the date the object were created. They are joined by views from the exhibitions "" Fluss"", 2018 at Aurel Scheibler in Berlin and "" Schö nheit?!"", curated by Anne-Marie Bonnet 2019/20 at Gisela Clement in Bonn. In the exhibition "" ab8"", 2017 at Galerie Ute Parduhn in Dusseldorf some of the objects were shown for the first time. In the middle section of the book is an excerpt from a conversation between Wolfgang Ullrich and Stefan Lö ffelhardt. which took place in 2018 in the context of the exhibition at Aurel Scheibler. In the back you can see some collages from 2010."

Author Information

Aurel Scheibler opened his first gallery in Cologne in April 1991 and moved to Berlin in 2006; first with a location in Charlottenburg, later in Kreuzberg. In the summer of 2012, Galerie Aurel Scheibler moved to Schö neberger Ufer in the Tiergarten district, into a historic building designed in 1911 for the Association of Berlin Women Artists. Later it also served as gallery space for Ferdinand Mö ller and the Nierendorf brothers. In addition to Stefan Lö ffelhardt, he represents in his gallery artists such as Alice Neil, Ernst Wilhelm Nay, Erwin Wurm, Gavin Turk, Jack Bison, and Joe Zucker. Stefan Lö ffelhardt (born 1959) is a German sculptor. He develops sculptural, photographic and drawing landscapes. After training as a sculptor (1982- 85), he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and at the Dusseldorf Art Academy. There he was a student of Gü nther Uecker, among others. Parallel to his sculptural work, which includes installations and sculptures, Stefan Lö ffelhardt creates photographic compositions. Here he often refers to the theme of landscape, which he combines with everyday materials (packaging film, wood, plaster, wire, glass, etc.). Ute Parduhn is a gallery owner in Dü sseldorf, representing Thomas Bayrle, Eduardo Chillida, Pia Fries, Via Lewandowsky, Karin Sander, Thomas Schü tte and others.
