OverviewIn this anthology, empirical findings of the first nationwide representative study on stalking experiences in Germany - conducted by the Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony in 2011 and funded by the BMBF - are presented. Based on data of 5779 respondents aged 16 to 40 years, a lifetime prevalence of 15% was found. Further analyses regarding the factual circumstances, the victims' reporting behavior and other consequences are thus based on the information of 844 victims. In addition to these empirical results, theoretical and legal background information on stalking is reviewed from an interdisciplinary perspective as a basis for discussing the findings. In the individual book chapters, different thematic priorities are set, they can therefore be read as a stand-alone posts. At the same time, the chapters are related to each other and include complementary issues.
