"Step into the shadowy forgotten wilderness populated by shaggy cryptids-unseen, unheard, and unsmelled by humankind. The misty forest conceals the big-footed, big-hearted Gogg family of six hair-covered, yarn-collecting, treehouse-dwelling Sasquatches and their growing menagerie of rescued Squatch Pets. The Goggs have run out of space in their cramped treehouse. Every nook and cranny is overstuffed with Bob's fiber engineering equipment and Mim's fanciful filaments and medicinal remedies. Their four Squatchlings are always tripping over each other and breaking into squabbles over where to hang their hammocks and the lack of bigtoe room. Trew, the oldest Gogg son, sets out on a mission to find them a new home. His quest leads him to the perfect place, but he discovers a dangerous dilemma. Trew and his dad put their heads together and devise a solution, with Trew taking the lead as his dad's apprentice. While the two engineers are hard at work, Trew glimpses an itty-bitty critter in peril and swings into action. Will the brave rescuer get there in time? Trew's younger sisters, Nan and Viv, and kid brother, Pip, have exciting escapades of their own and come across their own helpless creatures in jeopardy. How will they react when lives could be at stake? Trace Holt enjoys kayaking, hiking, and camping in the natural beauty of Washington, the Evergreen State. Sasquatch legends are ever present in the densely forested Pacific Northwest. Trace attended her first Squatch Fest there in 2024 and was intrigued by the Squatchers' stories.The curious guest teacher, author, and amateur artist and photographer was inspired to write Squatch Pets: Sasquatch Yarns & Tails after imagining what it would be like if cryptids had pets, just like you and me.Trace and her husband raise a menagerie of Squatch Pets in their PNW home surrounded by tall cedars. Her three grown Squatchlings are some of her biggest fans. Four additional children's books are in the works, including two more in her Squatch Pets series.
