Excerpt from Special Reports on the Mineral Resources of Great Britain, Vol. 13: Iron Ores(contd.), Pre-Carboniferous and Carboniferous Bedded Ores of England and Wales The term 'bedded ores, ' as applied to the iron-ores of pre Carboniferous and Carboniferous formations, is used to indicate beds rich in iron which form members of a stratigraphical sequence.
