Overview

Rehabilitation, mental health, and employment, were once areas separated by great differences. However, within contemporary human services they are increasingly being integrated as American society has accelerated its expectations of work and workers, there is a proliferation of services to facilitate the employment of those who are disabled as well as those who have been displaced from the workplace. This volume is designed to reflect the changing nature of rehabilitation and work, and as such addresses the promise and challenges of employment, service roles and contexts in rehabilitation and mental health practice, developing readiness for employment, sustaining employment, and responding to the needs of people coping with a range of disabilities.
