Yes is considered the pioneers of progressive rock or Prog-Rock. They influenced the genre by pushing boundaries of complex compositions, virtuosic muscianship and incorporation of classical music. The combonation of intricate song structures and soaring vocals harmonies pushes Yes beyond traditional rock formats. Jon Anderson's voice is naturally high and has been described as magical, syncretic and powerfully preserved. His distictive alto voice is unique and pitch perfect in the crooning of melodies and harmonies. John is a gifted front man whose falsetto has an ethereal quality. The band has been throught the metamorphasis of different leadership from Anderson and Wakeman in the 1970's to Trevor Rabin in the 1980's to Chris Squire in the 1990's. The band was strong enough to allow others to do solo projects or spin-off group work. Despited disagreements over the decades among members over 60 years, they have always welcomed back old colleagues. This book is a proper introduction to Yes for Gen Z. Yes [1969-2024] has sold over 30 million albums, performed in over 2800 concerts and was introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
