Something Old, Something New is a collection of thirteen multi-purpose, nonsequential, self-contained, hymn-based educational lesson plans for children in grades 2-5. Incorporates both classic hymns and newer hymns for teaching concepts. This resource is an example of holistic ministry with children at its best! The concept began with the dream of a church musician, a church educator, and an artist. This team decided to collaborate in using classic and contemporary hymns, biblical stories and other Scripture, and unusual creative art media to design learning experiences for children, youth, and multi-generational groups around important concepts of the Christian faith. Something Old, Something New can help you with your special curriculum needs, Exploring Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost, any of the sessions can be used in a wide variety of settings. Sunday school classes (especially combined age level classes), weekday children's programs, Bible clubs and other children's Bible study groups, music camps, Vacation Bible Schools, choir rehearsals, retreats, family night supper programs, intergenerational--the options are endless!
