For some years, she lived in the Old Gaol, Monmouth, now a private residence, and discovered that it had once housed as a condemned prisoner the Chartist leader John Frost. She began to research this radical leader and realised that those who marched to Newport with Frost in 1839 were from the valley villages where her ancestors had lived and worked. What followed was a determination to fulfil Frost's own wish to record his life, albeit as a piece of historical fiction with Frost's daughter Anne as the scribe. Brenda lives on the Welsh coast with her husband and dog. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
