CAUTION! The universe is dangerous! That's the truth I grew up with. I'm 820-5I, almost eleven years old, and ever since I was little-like all the other soldiers-I was recruited into the army and put through brutal training, designed to make us strong enough to conquer the most hostile and savage environments you can imagine. Our mission is to ensure the safety and survival of Earth: a barren world with no life beyond humanity, ruled and entirely dependent on a military system. That's why-although it's my first time-we venture beyond our borders, seeking and extracting the most valuable and vital treasure of all... How could I have foreseen that a single official order, dark and absolute, would be enough to shatter the foundations of my strict upbringing? Or that meeting that extraordinary and unpredictable person would literally throw me onto a path of stars leading back to my home...? I am a soldier of Earth. I always have been and always will be... but maybe ""always"" is too long?
