Author Information

Dr. Nuriye Çelik is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Sinop University, Türkiye. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from Selçuk University, with a focus on political communication and media studies. Her research integrates political sociology, digital society, and media governance with critical theory. Dr. Çelik has authored and co-authored several articles on digital public spheres, social media regulation, algorithmic bias, and digital activism. She is married and the mother of one child. Nadir Ateşoğlu received his undergraduate degree from the Department of Public Administration at Dumlupınar University and his master’s degree from the Department of Business Administration at the Institute of Social Sciences, Maltepe University. He later completed his PhD in the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Maltepe University. His academic interests include political sociology, educational sociology, and digital sociology. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Sinop University. Şerife Sena Güner is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Sociology at Ondokuz Mayıs University and a research assistant in the Department of Applied Sociology at Sinop University, Türkiye. Her research interests lie at the intersection of migration sociology, gender studies, political sociology, and the digital society. She has contributed to the field through various academic outputs, including a peer-reviewed article, a book chapter, and two international conference presentations. In 2024, she co-authored an article titled “Intersectional Activism: Dutch-Turkish Muslim Women ‘Talking Back’ to Securitization and Islamophobia” with Tahir Abbas, published in Ethnic and Racial Studies. Additionally, she collaborated with Nuriye Çelik on a book chapter titled “‘Ahh Belinda’ Filminin 2023 ve 1986 Yılı Versiyonları Üzerinden Sinemada Kadının Temsiline İlişkin Eleştirel Bir Değerlendirme”, included in the edited volume Cumhuriyetimizin 100. Yılında Kadın Çalışmaları.
