Reviews

Smart, But Dead is the perfect combination of brains and heart. A tight mystery, an irrepressible heroine, and superb writing. _ James W. Ziskin, 2015 Anthony-Award and Lefty Award Finalist for No Stone Unturned Smart, But Dead features an impetuous, warm-hearted heroine, blessed with an insatiable curiosity, passion for learning and an unquenchable zest for life._ Mystery People Columnist Aggie Mundeen spends much of her time fighting off impending middle age. Taking a seminar with her friend Meredith on the science of aging puts her on the spot when Dr. Kermit Carmody keels over after class. Then things get really weird. The third book in a cute cozy series (Fit To Be Dead; Dang Near Dead) features an appealing heroine with a self-deprecating wit and a determination to never grow old. _Library Journal I have just finished reading the best cozy mystery - the one I wished I had written. Having spent most of my career on the college campus, I have noticed the many opportunities for murder on the college campus - faculty killing faculty, students, or administrators; students killing faculty or students; administrators killing .... you get the point. Nancy G. West has done it well. _Upstate New York reader
