Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationCailean Maclean was born and brought up in the Outer Hebrides and has been living on the Isle of Skye since the early 1980s. He worked in community education and then as a producer for the BBC before turning freelance about 10 years ago. His interest in photography, developed while a Geography student at Aberdeen University, now provides him with part of his freelance income and he also continues to work in broadcasting from his base in Aird Bernisdale near Portree. Maclean co-wrote Knee Deep in Claret with Billy Kay but most of his more recent publications are photography related. eg. Skye: The Island (with Jim Hunter), The Highlands (illustrating a re-publication of his uncle Calum's celebrated book, The Wee Skye Book) and Skyescapes.
