"THE SKILLS4PEACE ""The Peacemaker's Skill Set"" Skills4Peace is skill set built upon a framework of five categories of peace skills that we have identified to help organize and further advance the field of peacemaking. We have chosen those skills that have proven successful in various modalities of peacemaking/peacebuilding and assigned them to one of five cohesive categories forming the S4P Framework: FORMATIVE = 1) Mindfulness 2) Social & Emotional Learning CONNECTIVE = 1) Civility 2) Circles 3) DEI 4) Civic Smarts RESPONSIVE = 1) Negotiation 2) Mediation. RESTORATIVE = 1) Restorative Justice & Practices. CURATIVE = 1) Healing 2) Holistic 3) Trauma Induced Care 4) Anti-Violence The Skills4Peace Framework is straightforward, sensible, and easy to comprehend. Everyone can see how the peace skills that fit into each category are interrelated; and how the categories while independent of each other form a cohesive trajectory of skills that mirrors our own human development. Skills4Peace provides the integrated societal skillset needed to successfully negotiate one's education - Pre-K thru college; one's career path - apprenticeship thru retirement; and community commitment - school team player thru informed active citizen. Skills4Peace is easily teachable and learnable whether as an integral component of the PreK-12 curriculum in-person or online; as an independent study course in-person or online or as providing the basis for facilitated dialogue to build trust, resolve conflict, and restore unity within the community. We hope Skills4Peace becomes universally adopted and in time replaces violence as mankind's go-to-skillset for preventing/resolving all of its conflicts and disputes."
