On the sunny Florida coast, a man named Edward is living the American dream. He owns multiple rental homes scattered throughout the region, each one a perfect slice of paradise for those seeking a little slice of sunshine in their lives. But beneath the surface, Edward harbors a dark and twisted desire that threatens to consume him entirely. As he acquires more and more properties, Edward's need for sexual gratification grows more intense. Should he simply watch the women who rent his homes, or should he take things to the next level and force himself upon them? The thought of rape excites him, but he knows that it would only be a temporary solution to his insatiable cravings. And so, Edward begins to sneak into his rental homes when the women are out, watching them from the shadows as they go about their daily lives. But even this isn't enough to satisfy him for long. Slowly but surely, he starts to kill the single females who rent his homes, using a method that he has perfected over time. Edward is meticulous in his planning, taking great care to choose his victims carefully and ensure that they won't be missed. He kills each woman in the same way, leaving their bodies in a different part of town every time. He takes pleasure in the power he has over these women, knowing that he can do whatever he wants to them without fear of reprisal. Over time, Edward's killing spree becomes more and more brazen. He grows careless, leaving behind evidence that could lead to his capture. But even as the body count rises, he can't stop himself. He's addicted to the rush of power and sex that comes with each new kill. In total, Edward kills 17 women before finally being caught by the police. His downfall comes at the hands of his wife, the chief of police in the very city where he has been carrying out his gruesome crimes. She had suspected him for some time, but it wasn't until she found evidence of his atrocities in their own home that she was able to make an arrest. Each of Edward's victims is given a name and a brief backstory, revealing the lives that he snuffed out so callously. He left their bodies in different parts of town, each one a macabre calling card that taunted the police and terrified the locals. In the end, Edward's reign of terror comes to a bloody and violent end. But the memory of his crimes lingers on, haunting those who knew him and reminding us all of the darkness that can lurk beneath even the sunniest of exteriors.
