Overview

Claire's efforts prevented the city from tumbling like an inverted Atlantis, but there's a much bigger world out there. Drawn into a web of intrigue and lies, Claire and company find themselves drawn toward the Vampire Bastions by an old friend. Once there, they find out that it's not just a new town but a new world, and a strange one at that. This world has got some bite to it! While helping to keep the peace, Claire also has to do everything she can to avoid being put on the menu. But vampire politics is slippery stuff, and everything in this broken world of monsters and men is shrouded in shadows and secrecy. Claire may have saved Summerland, but her moment in the sun is a distant memory in these dark lands. Can she trust allies who keep secrets? Was there hunger in that smile?

Author Information

Michael Anderle is the internationally bestselling author of more than forty urban fantasy and science fiction novels, including the Kutherian Gambit, Opus X, Federal Histories, and Exceptional S. Beaufont series. He is also coauthor of many more with other authors under his company, LMBPN Publishing, which has now sold over three million books. Rachel Leblang has been using audiobooks to liven up her frequent car rides for over eight years now, and annoying her family with silly voices for twenty-seven. While earning a bachelor's degree in Japanese language studies, she was asked to lend her voice to a classmate's video game and a passion for voice acting was born! She made the natural leap into audiobooks, and has produced 114 books to date. When Rachel isn't locked in her recording booth, she enjoys working on her inordinate amount of puzzles, video gaming, and re-creating historical dress by hand-slowly.
